The e-commerce giant runs its "White Friday" sale every year after Thanksgiving, and for the second consecutive year, Souq.com sold more than 600,000 items during this year's online event — more than double what was sold in 2014.
Throughout the weekend, Souq.com saw more than 13 million (!!!) eager users trust them with their online shopping needs, and the website didn't disappoint.
Souq.com and its infrastructure handled the massive spike in traffic with ease because the engineering team at the company treats performance and load testing as a priority year-round.
Load Impact is proud to partner with Souq.com to help them understand their website's performance under all conditions, whether it's a normal day of traffic or an incredible spike for an extended period of time.
Souq.com's co-founder and CEO, Ronaldo Mouchawar, told arabianbusiness.com he was thrilled with White Friday's success and pointed to the year-over-year growth from White Friday 2014 as a great sign for the company.
"We witnessed six times more new buyers every day, clearly indicating that Souq.com is building awareness of online shopping and leading the e-commerce growth in the region", Mouchawar said.
While Souq.com works like a dream for its users all year, here a few stats from White Friday 2015 to give you an idea of the enormous amount of data that was being transferred for nearly three full days.
