We are excited to announce that the k6 team has accepted another champion! Rafał is a QA manager based in Poland, and he’s been contributing to the k6 community through his series of articles and advocacy on his different social media platforms.
Now, let’s get to know him a bit more!
Tell us a little bit about yourself
I am currently working as a QA Manager (both technical and administrative for the QA team) in Euvic S.A. I like new tools and innovations, and I am a software tester by choice, with which I have a lot of experience. Previously, I’ve worked on a variety of exciting projects here in Poland and also worldwide. Since November 2022, I am also a Cypress.io Ambassador.
What do you do outside of work?
I have a wife and two children, and I love to spend time with my family. For a few months now, I started boxing training, and it is an excellent way for people who work in IT to de-stress. I also love to travel with my family, and I like to read books that can help me in my business and personal development.
What made you decide to become a k6 Champion?
I am happy when I can improve the skills of testers. I like teaching, helping people, and sharing knowledge - like on my personal blog. As I mentioned already, I became a Cypress Ambassador in 2022, and I think I can also do an excellent job helping the k6 community. I want to inform, learn and develop people how necessary performance testing is and how people can use k6 easily.
How are you currently helping the k6 community?
At the moment, I am focused on writing articles about k6 on my personal blog, where I have a specific section about the k6 tool. My content is written in Polish, but I’ve added a translator plugin also to help non-polish speakers. I also share k6 tips and tricks on social media platforms like Instagram, Linkedin, Twitter, and Facebook.
What do you love about k6?
The k6 tool is very elastic and light. We can, in a few steps, start performance testing very easily. If you are familiar with JavaScript, then k6 provides a great developer experience to get started. We can use the browser extension, docker image, or cloud version to write and run tests faster. I also like that k6 reports can be presented in different ways, whether that’s via an HTML report or integrated with a Grafana dashboard.
What’s your most favorite k6 feature?
I don’t have one favorite feature, but if I have to choose, it’s the basic structure and the possibility of writing code in JavaScript. It offers a really excellent developer experience.
What advice would you give to someone who wants to become a k6 Champion?
My advice to future champions is to start sharing knowledge and experience with the community, whether that is via blog posts, videos, instructions, etc. They can show how they use k6 in real projects and show real problems or improvements.
